This contest is about recognizing power Pinterest pinners who happen to be businesses.
How To Enter
1. Follow Pinterest/ScentTrail
2. I will add you to the board.
3. Pin 5 pins before 2.13.
4. Select 10 finalists. Community vote determines Queen of Pinterest.
Prizes
Businesses receive recognition and PR. If they have a cause they support we will note that. If they would like to support the Story of Cancer Foundation in some way (mentions, partnerships, ideas) we certainly won't hold that against them (lol).
Finalist Selection Criteria
We will be judging the business who tell the most complete visual story in 5 pins or less by 2.13.13. We will visit links behind the pins, but links are not required.
Eligibility & Legalese
Anyone can enter. I'm not going to fill up a page with legalese. I've created the contest without any official connection to Pinterest to find people and businesses to follow on Pinterest. Since the only cash prize goes to charity no "damages" are possible and so entering means you agree to be nice and play well with the other children and not sue or otherwise be a hard ass.
Why Do Prizes Suck?
I'm a cancer survivor and my salary in 2013 is going into a trust called The Story of Cancer Trust a 501c3 nonprofit whose mission is to create technology to help doctors and researchers cure cancer and help cancer patients, their friends and families feel better. Since I'm going to create the tees and $500 in cash prizes for Queen of Pinterest and King of Pinterest so $250 twice, this is about all I can afford :).
If a business would like to contribute prizes to the King or Queen of Pinterest competition we promise to take no cut or fee and promote our brand and gift. Why? because....
Tech Cures Cancer.
Changing Your Pins
Yes you can change your 5 pins until 2.13. At the stroke of midnight (assuming I'm up), the contest is frozen and the Best Businesses on Pinterest will come from the 10 Finalist we select.
Seems Kind of Arbitrary
Hey I got cancer at 48 that is arbitrary the Best Businesses on Pinterest contest is just fun with friends :). I promise to promote those who enter across my social nets, follow them on Pinterest and add those with the courage to enter to my FOM (Friends of Martin) group. Show how well you can knit a story together on Pinterest and you may just become one of the Best Businesses on Pinterest.

If I need to note you are the rightful owners of trademarks or patents or other stuff just tell me what to say and I will be glad to do so. Your tool rocks and I would never steal or abuse a team who created such a cool thing. I suspect you might have a hard time if I start screen printing Pinterest tees for sale so I won't be doing that. Will only print tees for Finalists and will only use words if your logo is off limits.
I think a Pinterest Cures Cancer would be a very cool tee (but won't do that either unless you too think it is cool).
