Why A Post Panda and Penguin SEO Audit Is Essential

Panda and Penguin is the gift that just keeps on giving. A friend (@PB145) showed me how Google is now using H1 tags for descriptions, so I wrote about the need to get under the hood of your website and tune it to the new SEO.

Whoever Tells Best Stories Wins

Two trusted resources Karen Dietz (@Kdietz) and @SmallRivers, the Paper.li people, combined to create a KILLER article about storytelling. In case you missed it, storytelling is the new black. Storytelling can't get any hotter. I trust Karen. She has been on top of storytelling curation and tips since I've been following her Tweets and Scoops. I wrote a post for @SmallRivers blog a few weeks ago. I like Paper.li, featured in my 5 Do More With Less Curation Tools. Be sure to check this excellent article about storytelling out.

5 Social Media Marketing Safety Tips (my guest blog post for Paper.li)

Storytelling Is HOT

I have lived long enough to see something I believed a long time ago, in 2002, come to pass. In 2002 I saw the need for great content. Managing a large e-commerce site Google's signals were clear. Content = GOOD and SELLING = BAD.

If you are new to storytelling I have several book suggestions:

Winning The Story Wars by Sachs.

Managing Content Marketing by Rose and Pulizzi.

Story by McKee (I've reserved a spot in Robert McKee's famous seminar for April in NYC).

SEO Writing Tips

SEO Writing is different than novel writing. I've shared several posts on how to write for people and search engine spiders:

A Content Marketing STEAL THIS From Moto

Almost forgot the cool Steal This I got from Moto today. Moto is a cool Chicago restaurant and their email was a day in the life of their very innovative chef. The "Day In A Life" idea is perfect since it begs for visual confirmation (they use videos) and sounds cool and very "behind the scenes" and "limited access". The email is a tad jumbled, but the concept is a STEAL THIS for sure.

  3. Fredney,
Sarcasm doesn't translate well, but Panda and Penguin simple ARE so no use tearing hair out about it. Google had to change or drown in social signals. I've been an Internet marketer since 1999 so these kinds of paradigm shifting changes that crater hard work aren't new, but I was be sarcastic with the "gift that keeps on giving" idea. Marty

  4. seems that many are contradicting regarding Panda and Penguin as a gift. Well, there are two sides of the story here. For those common internet users they are a gift because they lower the chance of untrusted, unclean and spammy sites but in part of those users who are working behind the internet world it is a pain in the head specially if it damage your site.
